Eliminate Low Back and Hip Pain

This workshop is for anyone who wants to reduce, relieve, eliminate low back and hip pain and restore comfortable, functional movement in daily life. 

Low back and hip pain is a debilitating silent epidemic that a disproportionate amount of people suffer with in modern Western society.  Often, people have “tried everything” in vain and can find temporary relief with certain treatments but it always comes back.

This type of pain significantly limits quality of life making certain activities difficult to impossible, interfering with mobility, the ability to be active, the ability to improve fitness and ultimately sometimes even contributing to depression and other injuries as the body compensates for the pain.

Low back and hip pain is usually not just one thing, and often on a spectrum of physical dysfunction. Discover a synergistic gentle approach which strengthens and mobilizes your muscles in a way that stabilizes and protects, allowing you to move pain free -- or at minimum, greatly reduce pain to where it no longer bothers you.  Discover what else contributes to pain and inflammation and how to maintain your ability to move life long.

As a bonus, you’ll find yourself sleeping better, moving better, feeling stronger, with better posture and much more energy through the day when it is not being drained by your pain.

Workshop Facilitators

Chris is a yoga and Pilates teacher. Curiosity is what brought Chris into his first yoga class. That curiosity marked the beginning of an ongoing journey and passion for the practice of yoga and a profound desire to deepen that relationship. 
 
Chris completed De La Sol's 200 hour YTT and is currently studying the Ashtanga Yoga method. Chris regularly visits Mysore, India to study at Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, the source of Ashtanga yoga, as well as the Shala with Paramaguru Sharath Jois. Chris is a certified Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist (FRCms) under Dr. Andreo Spina and continues to work with Head FRC & Kinstretch Master Instructor, Dana John Heimbecker. In 2018, Chris completed the Kinstretch Instructor training in the Functional Range Systems under Dewey Neilson and is currently completing the certification. He is also studying the art of hand balancing under renown circus performer and coach, Nicolas Montes de Oca and handbalance legend, Yury Bozyan. Chris is also a second degree Reiki practitioner.
  
In 2017, Chris completed the Yoga Tune Up Level 1 Teacher Training created by Jill Miller.

Freja Njorden
Freja first studied massage therapy in New York state, completing her massage therapy diploma.  She studied the original Emotional Freedom Technique as presented by Gary Craig. In Germany, discovering the simplicity and incredible effectiveness of an updated method called faster EFT for pain, finally studying it on a practitioner level using programs made available by Robert Smith. 

​She pursued deep tissue and sports massage workshops, as well as furthering her knowledge of the mind-body connection with regards to physical symptoms and manifestations through the study of hypnosis, and attending yoga teacher training from Chris Nguyen. 


Freja has been working independently with the mind-body connection for the last 14 years, consistently  upgrading skills, knowledge and techniques. Valuing real life application and results rather than endless talk and theorizing. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, hiking, yoga, camping, and outdoor swimming.
